Bad Taste (1987)

The population of a small town disappears and is replaced by aliens that chase human flesh for their intergalactic fast-food chain.
Way before Peter Jackson was lord of the CGI, he was making low budget movies like this slapstick horror. So cheap that he stars alongside the small cast as well, the effects are far more creative and ingenious in my eyes than a lot of the computer generated packages displayed by the heavily funded blockbusters today. Fully resourceful, this New Zealand film makes the most of what it has got, creating a fun and gory little classic.
